Nervous System Wisdom

For years, my nervous system has taken me on a journey—one I didn’t even realize I was on at first.
There were seasons where I was completely dysregulated… when my system felt like it was in shambles. During my divorce, I went into full freeze. I could barely function on the outside, and inside, everything had shut down. Then, with intention and healing, I slowly found my way back to stability—only to be knocked down again by life’s inevitable challenges.
And that’s the truth no one talks about enough: healing your nervous system isn’t a one-time fix. It’s a relationship. A lifelong dance.
Right now, I’m in a softer, more retreating season. I’m listening more closely. Slowing down. Letting my body lead.
I’ve been drawn to somatic practices—movement, dancing, even painting—ways to process what words can’t touch. And I’ve realized something surprising: my nervous system actually prefers introversion now. I used to identify as an extrovert, but that’s shifted as I’ve learned what safety truly feels like in my body.
In this episode, we explore what the nervous system really is—not just biologically, but energetically and spiritually.
Your nervous system is the bridge between your physical reality and your inner world. It holds your experiences, your emotions, your patterns. It shapes how you perceive life, connection, and even your relationship to something greater than yourself. And when you’re stuck in survival mode, that deeper connection—your intuition, your sense of peace—can feel out of reach.
The truth is, so many of us are living in survival without even realizing it.
We talk about the signs of a dysregulated nervous system—feeling numb, stuck, frozen, or constantly on edge—and the small, powerful ways you can begin to support yourself.
Practices like:
- Meditation
- Mindfulness
- Breathwork
- Somatic movement
- Rest (real rest)
This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about learning how to listen.
I also share what it looks like for me when my nervous system is asking for help—like feeling overwhelmed in crowds or needing deep solitude after even a short time out in the world.
And I’ll leave you with a question I want you to sit with:
What would a regulated nervous system feel like for you?
And what’s one small thing you can do today to move 10% closer to that?
Maybe it’s a walk.
Maybe it’s a breath.
Maybe it’s simply giving yourself permission to slow down.
This episode is an invitation—to come back into your body, your rhythm, and your own inner wisdom.
