We are raised in a fucked up society.

We are raised to believe that there is something wrong with us no matter what we look like. We are raised to believe that what, who, and how we are is not enough.  We are raised to believe that all answers lie outside of us, not within.

So, what’s the solution? Buy products that don’t work, starve yourself, conform and try to look like someone you are not?

NO. It's enough.

This toxic programming affects everyone. For example, I was at the beach the other day and I saw this beautiful woman. She had the typical model build, was tall and thin, and really fit into the “beauty standard.” While I watched her, she started to take off her cover-up, and as she did she looked around sort of nervously.

I realized that she was looking around to make sure people weren’t looking, and then I heard her say to the guy that was with her: “Don’t look at my butt.”

She felt uncomfortable. She felt like something was wrong with her. She felt the same way I used to, and the way many of us feel at some point. Everyone has experienced feeling “not enough” or “imperfect”.

Well. Perfect is bullshit. Let’s get rid of this notion that we have to be perfect. There is no such thing as perfection. It doesn’t exist. What if our “flaws” are what make us perfect? What if what we’ve been conditioned to believe about perfection is a lie? (spoiler alert: it is)

Can you imagine how much happier you would be if you could look at yourself and say “I love myself. JUST AS I AM. I love my stomach. I love my butt. I love my hips. I love the way I look.” How much room opens up energetically within your being when you truly LOVE yourself vs. put yourself down?

So, why do we give into the notion that we aren’t good enough?

I went through this, too. I spent years feeling ashamed and uncomfortable within myself. I was never pretty enough, thin enough, or enough. Period. I had deeply programmed body shame that wouldn’t give no matter how thin I got.

I know this struggle from experience. And I know how to overcome it.

And you can too. You can deprogram your body shame, live life fully with love, and you can help build up the people around you. If you have kids, you can help them grow up without the stigma of societal expectations. You can help the next generation grow up feeling confident in their natural beauty and power.

It all starts with you. So ask yourself: How would your life change if you decided to fully love yourself? Because that’s all it is… a decision. <3
